Low Carb Chaffles

by Lori Tiede
1 minute read

Here is my version of the ever-popular chaffle. It’s a low carb waffle that uses no flour, nuts, or dairy. I make mine on this little 6” Dash waffle-maker which yields 2 waffles for this recipe.

Making it crispy

I use beef tallow on the griddle to achieve an extra crispy exterior, and the addition of beef gelatin also helps provide some structure and crispiness.

Sugar free serving ideas

You can always go with butter if you’re happy with a savory bite. I try to avoid sweeteners most of the time, however with chaffles, I’ve found a really great allulose-based maple syrup that I really love. Check out the All-U-Lose Maple Syrup on Amazon.  Berries and whipped cream (if you do dairy) is also another amazing combination. This recipe could easily be used as a savory bread or a bread substitute in a breakfast strata or casserole.
